What we do ...
The Abigroup National Rugby Camp specialises in helping young players develop their skills and knowledge in the game of Rugby Union. We do this by building an encouraging, friendly and professional environment for kids to learn and hone their skills. Having high-grade players and coaches, who contribute their knowledge and experience, adds a tremendous quality to the Camp and makes it one of the most popular rugby camps in Australia. The Camp has grown 5 times in size since 2000, comfortably reaching a maximum capacity of 300 campers. This 10th anniversary camp will be held at SportUNE
located at the University of New England.

The National Rugby Camp offers full scholarships in appreciation of two very strong supporters of the Camp - John Cassidy and Eddie Jones.
John Cassidy Scholarship

John Cassidy has a deep passion for rugby and developing young talent in Australia. His support of the camp is second to none and it is an honour to have this scholarship in his name.
He retired as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Abigroup Limited in February 2004. His tenure as Chairman and CEO of Abigroup saw the company expand, diversifying its civil engineering and construction operations into other related business activities. Abigroup has been responsible for some major infrastructure works such as the M2 Hills Motorway, Sydney SuperDome and the M7 Westlink Motorway in Sydney. Mr Cassidy has also been the Chancellor of the University of New England, serving until 2008.
Eddie Jones Scholarship

Eddie Jones has been a tremendous encourager of the National Rugby Camp, having been present on a number of occasions. He sees the value in a top-quality rugby camp in Australia and we are particularly grateful for his ongoing contribution.
He is a rugby union coach and former player. Jones coached the ACT Brumbies to their first ever Super 12 title in 2001. After the Brumbies success, he was appointed as head coach of the Australian national rugby union team, the Wallabies. He took Australia to the final of the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
The Hall of Fame
The National Rugby Camp is proud to list below the international players that have taken part in the camp since 2000. Every year, the camp invites and hosts a number of first-class players and coaches to take part in the activites over a number of days.
Having premium quality players and coaches not only adds to the quality of the tuition on offer, but also serves as a great role model and inspiration to the campers. For example, last year featured the likes of Jim Williams (assistant coach to the Wallabies, pictured right), Timana Tahu and Luke Burgess (both current Waratahs and Wallaby players, pictured below).
In the early days of this decade, the Camp created a strong relationship with the ACT Brumbies, and through the Brumbies generosity, we were able to host some of the most valuable players and coaches at the time. It was incredible to have the likes of Eddie Jones and Joe Roff attend the camp. Both were hugely popular and at the top of their game at the time. No doubt they contributed to the success of the Camp in those early years in 2000.Since then, the Camp has also built a strong relationship with the NSW Waratahs and many Waratah players have attended the most recent camps.
We look forward to seeing more great players and coaches at the camp this year. Who will be at the Camp this year? You'll just have to wait to hear ...
